Compare COME download times across devices

Two devices can display different local times for the same event. Include the time zone and the kind of timestamp when comparing download records.

Identify the timestamp

A browser may show when a download started or completed, while a file manager may show a modification time. These are not interchangeable. Check the field label before comparing values from two devices.

Include the zone

Write the local date, time and time zone when timing matters. Around midnight, a single event can appear on different calendar dates in different regions. Do not treat that alone as evidence that the files contain different releases.

Use version for release identity

Dates help trace the process, but version and source information are better release-comparison fields. A local time discrepancy does not authenticate or invalidate a package. Keep Android's own file and installation checks in place.

A useful next step

Report the timestamp meaning and zone alongside the actual version and source.
